Special “thanks”...

On Monday, January 20th 2014- Martin Luther King Service Day - the Pollock Pines-Camino Community Center was given a gift from the hearts and generosity of many volunteers, businesses and donations. Organized and coordinated by the Pollock Pines Dogwood Club, the Pollock Pines-Camino Rotary and CEDAPP, over 40 volunteers gathered at the Community Center where hours of labor began. All the interior cedar walls were washed down with Murphy Oil leaving them sparkling and wonderfully clean. The outside entry and front walk area was pressure washed, all the windows washed (inside and out), the support posts painted, steel parking posts for handicap parking were given a fresh coat of white enamel with blue tops, and a beautiful planter-bench built and 2 sets of beautiful wooden doors, which are still in the process of being restored, are being returned to their original beauty.

The Community Center was very honored to have been chosen as one of three entities to be the recipient of such generosity and support. We would like to express our sincere appreciation and gratitude to every volunteer involved for donating their many hours of labor and expertise in helping to beautify the Center. We are receiving wonderful compliments from the warm glow of the interior to the fresh and welcoming entrance of the building.

The Community Center volunteers are working hard and planning a very community involved year in 2014 including the return of the 2nd Friday Night Taco Dinners, several free holiday dinners, fun events and activities for our youth and several other special events for the community. We hope that our residents will come out and enjoy the Center at every opportunity.

We truly are a community of unity and support and the Center is proud to be here for our community and residents!

Thank you volunteers…one and all!
